”Johnny Goudie is the Marc Maron of Austin music. The veteran singer/guitarist – best known for fronting early Nineties pop band Mr. Rocket Baby and, later, his major-label rock act, Goudie – stepped up to the microphone with a new intention in 2011 and launched the How Did I Get Here? podcast. Now 840-some episodes in, the hourlong, twice-weekly interview show gives the host a platform to really connect with his Austin music guests, not just on what’s happening in their careers, but also in the shared experience of music appreciation – and that’s where he truly shines.” - The Austin Chronicle

Amazing new music reviews and interviews with a healthy respect for the greats in Texas music and beyond -Taylor Tatsch

Rolling the dice with Ruby

What I like about Johnny’s interview style is that it’s just a conversation. And it’s no holds barred. He’ll ask the kind of questions that many people are not used to answering, probably because they never thought anybody would be interested in knowing. But, he really lets his guest, Ruby, in this case, go back and examine her life and, yep, figure out “how did I get here?” From a preachers kid in a one horse town in Colorado to the Austin Texas, the Live Music Capital of …well that was last year… by way of chocolate and church music. Great story!

Amazing show with great guests

I just listened to the episode with Lucas Griffin of The Ventures... I loved hearing stories about the band... funny coincidence, I used to work with Gerry McGees brother, Tom, he would tell me things that Gerry would tell him about the band travels and so forth..... kept the great shows coming Johnny
