S1E12: Train Your Mouth for Marriage - "Sticks & Stones‪"‬ Forever Marriage Podcast

    • Christianity

Scott & Dawn Smith continue sharing from a series they did back in the fall at Lakewood called, "Train Your Mouth for Marriage." In this episode, the Smiths remind us of this saying: "Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me." And they explain that this saying is, in fact, not true at all. Words can definitely hurt us. They remind us of Proverbs 12:18, which says that "reckless words pierce like a sword." Words can have long lasting effects - for good or for bad. We need to speak carefully, intentionally, and with wisdom.

Consider the following questions as you listen:
Can you think of a time when someone’s reckless words pierced you like a sword?  What were the affects of that piercing? When it comes to careless, ill-timed, or unfiltered words; who are you most prone to say these to?  Why is that so?
