Episode 144: The Perfect Braille Display, Custom Gestures & How to Install iOS Betas Double Tap

    • Technology

It’s that time again, another hour of the latest tech discussion with the Double Tap Canada team. And talking of time, Steven thinks he may just have come up with a million-dollar idea for the perfect alarm clock, probably not coming soon to a store near you.

In last week’s episode Steven thought he had found the perfect keyboard in the Logitech MX Keys for Mac. Now, this week, he thinks he may well have found the perfect braille display. The Mantis Q40 is a braille display with a difference, it uses a QWERTY keyboard instead of standard braille keys for input. With the ability to connect to 5 different devices via Bluetooth, Steven loves both the convenience and familiarity of using a QWERTY keyboard with a 40-cell braille display built in. But could the switch to QWERTY rather than traditional braille keys actually be a bad thing?

Next, it’s on to the listeners feedback. Kamal tells us his opinions on the MX Keys keyboard & wrist rest and Brian has a question on how to change a gesture on the iPhone. Luckily enough, Tim has the answer.

Finally, if you have ever wanted to become an iOS beta tester, Shaun’s not so High Speed How To will show you how to download and install a Public Beta version of iOS.
