Episode 20: Therapist Burnout The Barrier Breakdown: Disrupting Mental Health

    • Mental Health

Welcome to The Barrier Breakdown: Disrupting Mental Health!
This week, we talk to Dr. Jessica Gold about the ways in which mental health practitioners are finding themselves burned out. Dr. Gold is an assistant professor of psychiatry at Washington University School of Medicine, and in addition to teaching and research she has written articles featured in the New York Times, Washington Post and TIME. Alongside the clear mental health crisis and growing need for care in America, the responsibility of being a frontline worker during a pandemic only serves to heighten clinician's stress. We take a closer look at how important it is for mental health providers can care for themselves, so that they can better care for their patients too.
