A Banquet on Human Creativity
“There is no business like show business” - Irving Berlin “Annie Get Your Gun” (1946)
Of all the industries and practices within human history, there has been no business as creative and as enduring as the show business. Television spawned the era of home theater. Streaming sites sought to expand it evermore into the home. But truthfully, no business like television would ever be able to get far without the help of the movie business and the creative minds that spurred it on and continue to do, now and forever, against all odds.
And this indisputable fact, is why I love the Film Buds podcast. The show itself dissects and handles every film - regardless of genre or style - with a care and attention and respect that most businesses and critics and modern audiences fail to give on a normal day to day basis. To legendary films such as “Fight Club”, to modern cinema classics such as “Oppenheimer” or “Barbie”. From small indie projects like “Little Miss Sunshine” to action-packed passions like “John Wick”.
On a more personal note, this podcast reminds me why I love movies and films. Cause while they provide the most reasonable solution to escapism from our reality - and being able to break it down and build up again in new perspectives - this podcast also fills a void and satisfies a childlike need to love a good film and not have to think so far into it, when in the moment. During the pandemic, movies were my go to escape and a passion I enjoyed and still enjoy to this day. This podcast and its host - Henry Faherty - make me proud of how intelligent and creative and compassionate we can be when it comes to the will and ideas of creative ideas.
In conclusion, what this podcast show offers is a banquet on human creativity. Questions are the appetizers to yearn for more, reviews and discussions our main palette, and the little human touches and insights with our host are our desserts that make the show special. It’s perfect. All followers and listeners are invited to share in. Share this podcast. Give a chance to hear the latest in what this show talks about.
