What If You Don't Reach Your Goal Weight? (S2E20)

What If You Don't Reach Your Goal Weight? (S2E20)

    Have you thought about that?

If you don't reach the weight you decided to be your goal weight, will you keep dieting for the rest of your life to get there? Will you quit all together and decide not to even try?

Where did you get your goal weight? Do you ever think you should be the size you were in high school?

These are the topics discussed in this episode.

Food Isn't Good or Bad (S2E19)

Food Isn't Good or Bad (S2E19)

When we label food as good or bad, we are potentially destroying our relationship with food. In extreme situations, we can become afraid of food. This can lead to eating disorders and we can really do ourselves harm.

Also, if we label food as bad, we can feel guilty or shameful when we eat that food.

Food is not good or bad. It is food. There will be some foods that cause us to feel better physically, therefore serving us well. And there will be foods we decide to stay away from due to the food causing us not to feel so great. That food will be individual to the person.

What works for one's body may not work for another. Don't get caught up in what you can and can't have. Decide what foods cause you to feel your best and eat more of those. And if you decide to eat a food that you know isn't going to cause you to feel your best, it's ok. Don't beat yourself up. Learn from it and move on.

    Evolving Is A Lifestyle (S2E18)

    Evolving Is A Lifestyle (S2E18)

This episode was originally going to be about restriction. It evolved into something much different.

Maintenance? What does that even mean and where do you go from there?

There are so many great nuggets of info on how Ashley and Molly have evolved over time from turning their diet into lifestyle and insight into how that has evolved over time and maintenance has nothing to do with it.

    Collect Date Not Feelings (S2E17)

    Collect Date Not Feelings (S2E17)

We can easily get caught up in our feelings. Specifically, when it comes to the scale.

We have an episode all about the scale. In this episode, we go beyond the scale.

You're not always going to be motivated. You've got to have discipline. Your default mode has to be discipline and determination followed by action.

Tracking the data - your weight, your food, your hormones, etc. - will help you to have all the facts, aka data, on you. When you have the facts, it will help you to be educated and have more understanding about yourself. When you have the data, you can take that information and set forth a plan of action to change what you are doing if what you are doing is not working for you. You are more likely to respond in action rather than react with emotion if you are not reaching your goals.

    Structure Instead of Obsession (S2E16)

    Structure Instead of Obsession (S2E16)

Are you obsessed with health and fitness? Is that a bad thing?

Society, these days, would like to make you feel like an eating disorder contributor IF you track your calories and macros.

They are trying to give a message that, if you are working out consistently and have gained a lean toned body - then you must be obsessed.

Are there those who are obsessing over food, the scale, the muscle, and the physique? Yes.

However, there are also those who are in this for the health of it. They track because they want to get and stay healthy and not become obese and unhealthy. They lift because they want to be strong and contribute to living a longer and thriving life.

There is a balance, friends. There is always a balance. Finding that balance changes it all.

    Instead of obsessing, find structure.

I appreciate the honesty!

I am not one of the people who has found keto or IF to be a magic bullet. This has been a long, winding road guided by hard won realizations, on-going effort to figure out what actually works for me versus attempting to emulate or replicate to perfect 10 swan dive of other podcasters. Yes, I am no longer pre diabetic, but no, my body is no where near being healed or strengthened in a way that points to overall health.

Informative & Encouraging!

So thankful I found this podcast! I feel like I’m sitting with and listening to friends over coffee. I started my keto journey at the beginning of 2021 and have found encouragement and great info to help me from two ladies that are living and have found health and success with the keto life.

Needs better audio

I’ve tried to listen to a few of these episodes and they seem like good info. The hosts have great chemistry. But the audio levels need adjusting. The less southern sounding woman’s mic is far too quiet and you can’t hear her unless you really turn up the volume, which makes the other woman much too loud. This is why I never make it through an entire episode.
