Every prolonged crying in a baby does not mean that the baby has colic. Parents tend to over diagnose and overtreat colic in their babies and infants. A true colic (abdominal discomfort) is a benign condition that resolves when the baby is about three months old. Do not assume that prolonged crying in infants is always colic.
