Episode 28: Building a Healthy Body with Holly Baxter Low Bottom/High Rise with Moira Kucaba

    • Mental Health

I could not be more exicted to bring you my next guest: Holly Baxter.  Holly is quite literally a superhero.  She’s not only a Clinical Dietician/Coach and Trainer but a x2 World Champion for Natural Fitness Modelling.  If you’re as impressed as I am, believe me, we haven’t even scratched the surface.

Growing up in Tazmania, Holly was involved in as many sports as possible. She discovered that she was a natural athlete but when she began competing more seriously the emphasis on her performance and appearance set up her up for an extremely difficult struggle with binge eating and bulimia and left her wondering if she had any intrinsic value as a person.

Like so many of us who have dealt with an ED she found the only thing that she could control in her life was what she ate.

Holly and I talk very candidly about the tricks the mind can play on you when you’re struggling with an eating disorder and how she got herself to a place where she was able to ask for help.

Holly now works with women in the body building space to create healthy relationships with food and to break down the barriers for how “women should look”. She is truly a bright light and there are so many nuggets of wisdom in this episode whether you’re recovering from an eating disorder or not.
