Episode 328 - Scott McCaughey discussed Young Fresh Fellows "The Men Who Loved Music‪"‬ Records Revisited

    • Music Commentary

Growing up in the Northwest, the Young Fresh Fellows were our Replacements.  Our Big Star.  Our "fill in the blank for the band that never got the due they deserved."  They were an American Band that just played some good time rock 'n roll.  And, Scott McCaughey was the driving force for the band.  He's done alright for himself along the way...being a part of R.E.M. for years, The Minus 5, The Baseball Project.  Scott is a legend.  So, when I had a chance to be self indulgent in discussing both baseball (based on the Baseball Project's latest record) AND "The Men Who Loved Music" with Scott....well...I think you can probably tell that I was super pumped to have the opportunity.   We dig through the stories behind the songs on the album...and relive a little of that time period in the '80s (shout outs to PLU, Amy Grant, The Fastbacks, Dave Niehaus and more).  Even if you're not familiar with Scott or this band, I think you'll enjoy the conversation.  Check out Young Fresh Fellows at:  http://www.youngfreshfellows.net/Check out Minus 5 at:  http://www.minus5.com/Check out The Baseball Project at:  http://baseballproject.net/
