Episode 4 - Colorectal Cancer All In Against Cancer

    • Medicine

In this episode of the All In Against Cancer podcast powered by the Ochsner Cancer Institute, host Dr. Jonathan Mizrahi talks with Ochsner radiation oncologist, Dr. Jeff Burkeen, and Ochsner colorectal surgeon, Dr. Forrest Johnston, about colorectal cancer.
Colorectal cancer is one of the most common cancers in the United States.  While improvements in screening and early detection have been made, this disease still accounts for over 50,000 deaths in this country per year.  Advances in systemic, radiation and surgical therapies have improved outcomes for patients with colorectal cancer, and increasingly, oncologists are able to tailor treatments to target individual tumor vulnerabilities.
Tune in to hear more about the approach to diagnosis, staging, treatment, prevention, and screening for colorectal cancer.
