I’m excited to kick off the first interview of my second of Determine Our Future! Dr. Kimya Nuru Dennis is an activist, sociologist and criminologist, educator, and researcher. Dr. Dennis founded 365 Diversity, which provides results-based services for decision makers in K-12 schools, colleges and universities, businesses, and for-profit and non-profit organizations. On the 365 Diversity website, the training is described as getting outside of the organization’s comfort zone and challenging normalcy, power majorities, and decision makers. Today we will talk about these topics, as well as what police departments and health organizations have in common.
Kimya has a Ph.D. in Sociology from North Carolina State University has been faculty at multiple colleges and universities across the US. Kimya connects with schools, businesses, and organizations around the world and speaks extensively on these topics and others. Kimya and my pronouns are she/her/hers.
