Episode 52. Hillary Knight - A World Champion’s Fight for Women’s Sports

Voice In Sport

Hilary Knight, a Professional Hockey player for Team USA, and the Professional Women's Hockey Players Association shares her experience of the inequalities between women’s and men’s sports. She takes us through her journey at the University of Wisconsin and as the youngest member of Team USA, describing the different levels of support that her women’s hockey team was given at each stage. Hilary reminds us we need to change the future of women’s sports not only for ourselves, but for a whole generation of athletes following in our footsteps. Even though the fight for equality may be tough, Hilary emphasizes the importance of advocating for change with empathy because “because we know we deserve better. We've earned better. We need that, our next generation needs that.”- Hilary Knight.
