Episode 56: “Jail, but pretty.‪”‬ Left of Skeptic

    • Science Fiction

We’re going back to spooky basics with two very old buildings! First up, Kala talks about Rolling Hills Asylum in East Bethany, New York. This 18th Century building is one of the most haunted in the U.S. Highlights include: shadow figures in the halls, disembodied voices in patients' rooms, and a missing graveyard? It doesn’t get more classic than that. Next, Brittany covers the Old Jail in St. Augustine, Florida. This building was meant to look like a beautiful Victorian mansion, but inside it housed male and female inmates in close quarters, in torturous conditions, all while providing them with the scenic view of their own gallows being built. It might have been a pretty jail, but it was still jail. If I was a ghost, I’d be pissed too. The only thing scarier is Florida Man. What a perfect way to start your Spooky Wednesday.
