Episode 69: Setting Brave Boundaries for Success with Dr. Sasha Shillcutt Dream It Do It
-
- Self-Improvement
In this episode, I interview Dr. Sasha Shillcutt, and we dive into how to set boundaries and WHY they are so important.
In Dr. Sasha's new book, Brave Boundaries, she discusses how saying YES to every ask, to every need, to every responsibility, and to everyone, caused her to reach her breaking point. Externally, she was successful: An anesthesiologist. Wife. Mother. Tenured professor. Sister. Friend. The “yes woman” to anything and everything. But it wasn’t enough; it was never enough.
Exhausted, overcommitted, and empty, she decided, out of necessity, to radically change her approach to everyday life.
We chat about why it can be hard to say No to others (especially as women). We discuss the problem with being the "Yes Mom", and how to set boundaries in both your personal life and your professional life.
I think you'll find this episode very liberating, freeing, and inspiring!
