Episode 70: DEEP Work at our "Pique" Performance with Cristina Roman The Got Side Hustle Show

    • Careers

How is everyone holding up out there?  By the time this episode posts, I will have been working remotely for ten days.  I feel good - it’s been a smooth transition….but I do find that without the daily check in with my team, I get a little lost.  I do love having regular connection with my fellow Foundation Femmes each day beyond just using What’s App and checking my email.  So if I can’t meet face to face, then our daily Zoom calls are the next best thing. We even do Wednesday Afternoon Dance Parties via Zoom and those are the best!
But I digress.  This week’s episode deals with additional conversation about productivity and how we can make the most of our days at home right now.  I’m joined by Cristina Roman of Pique Coaching. And we have a good old time discussing deep work and the best ways to make these remote working experiences worthwhile.
Cristina Roman is a Washington, DC-based Certified Life Coach. She helps distracted, rushed, overwhelmed professionals free up their time and energy, so that they can finally refocus on that thing they've put on the back burner. (Is that you? Download this quick-start guide for getting into a deep work state in 15 minutes.) She half-jokes that she’s the Cross Legged Coach; her goal is always to keep things casual but wildly impactful for her clients.
NOW:  are you catching a theme to these episodes thus far?  I hope so, because I AM trying to make a point.
Working from home is HARD and it can be a lonely situation.  Right now, more than ever, we need to feel the community around us and we need to feel as though our work matters.  Working from home is kind of like figuring out college after four years in high school - no one is going to tell you to go to class, wake up on time, or brush your teeth before bed.  You gots to figure that out all by yourself.
