Episode 70 - The 2021 Christmas Special Do Geese Have Udders?
-
- Comedy
They wanted to do a Christmas Special last year, but lockdown shattered those dreams (hence the one of unused clips). But now, finally, Michael and Matt have been able to get not one, not two, but all four of our previous guests; Will, Darius, Rebecca and finally, his first time in the shed, Ben!
The show opens with an introduction to our guests; most of whom are in a festive spirit, including Christmas jumpers and socks. We then share some stories from memorable Christmas's we've had in the past, including something very special about Ben and why his Christmas's are a little different. Darius asks a ridiculous question which Will dubs as 'The Afternoon Salmon'.
A Christmas game is clearly needed and Michael brings a festive favourite played on 8 Out Of 10 Cats by Sean Lock and Jon Richardson. Does the game go smoothly? No. Do the players understand the game? No again. Is it hilarious to listen to? Absolutely.
Darius forgot that Michael gave him homework for this episode; to deliver the best Christmas joke. Please let us know in the comments on how you think he did.
For today, Matt's done away with the Fact Folder and dives into his OneDrive for a list of debates for our guests; when he's not distracted by the Toby Carvery menu. They're not all Christmassy, but if your Christmas dinner table conversations were needing some inspiration, it might be worth a listen.
Presents are exchanged in a DGHU Secret Santa and - since money is tight - everyone has been given the budget of £1. Some gifts loved, some pushing the budget and some with a handwritten note inside written in German.
Wrapping up with a thanks to all of our guests and contributors; Michael, Matt, Will, Darius, Rebecca, Ben and Mercedes.
Merry Christmas from DGHU and we'll hopefully see you soon in the new year!
