Charlie Benante is the drummer and one of the song writers for heavy metal icons, Anthrax and crossover thrash band, Stormtroopers of Death. He also happens to be a monster Star Wars fan who is a part of the 501st Legion of Stormtrooper cosplay wizards and has a huge memorabilia and toy collection. On this episode, Charlie joins Pete Fletzer via phone to talk about his introduction to Star Wars, Funko Pops, The Mandalorian, a story of an Episode I toy hoarding monster and the power of John Williams’ music. He also gives us the inside scoop on the 30th Anniversary Special Edition of the band’s 1990 Persistence of Time album and some insight into his love of coffee.

Anthrax is an American heavy metal band from New York City, formed in 1981 by rhythm guitarist Scott Ian. The group is considered one of the leaders of the thrash metal scene from the 1980s and is part of the "Big Four" of the genre, along with Metallica, Megadeth and Slayer. They were also one of the first thrash metal bands (along with Overkill and Nuclear Assault) to emerge from the East Coast. The band has released 11 studio albums, several other albums, and 26 singles, including collaborating on a single with American hip hop group Public Enemy. Anthrax sold 2.5 million records in the United States from 1991 to 2004, with worldwide sales of 10 million. - Wikipedia
