Dr. Jason Johnson is an associate professor of politics and journalism in the School of Global Journalism & Communication at Morgan State University and author of the book Political Consultants and Campaigns: One Day to Sell. He focuses on campaign politics, political communication, strategy and popular culture. He hosts a podcast on Slate called "A Word"
He is a political analyst for MSNBC, SIRIUS XM Satellite Radio and The Grio. He has previously appeared on CNN, Fox News, Al Jazeera, Current TV and CBS. His work has been featured on The Daily Show with Trevor Noah, The Late Show with Stephen Colbert and on ESPN. He has been quoted by The Guardian, The Washington Post, The Washington Times, The Wallstreet Journal, Buzzfeed, The Hill newspaper, the Cleveland Plain Dealer and the Atlanta Journal Constitution.
Dr. Johnson is a University of Virginia alumnus and earned his PhD in Political Science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Maz Jobrani is a comedian, actor and LA Times best-selling author of I’M NOT A TERRORIST, BUT I’VE PLAYED ONE ON TV. His new standup comedy special THE BIRDS & THE BEES was filmed in the Main Room at the Comedy Store, and is now available for streaming on YouTube. As an actor, he has made many appearances on television’s most popular shows including GREY’S ANATOMY, CURB YOUR ENTHUSIASM, and SHAMELESS. He’s also been a regular guest on THE LATE SHOW WITH STEPHEN COLBERT AND THE LATE LATE SHOW WITH JAMES CORDEN. Maz starred as the title character in the award-winning indie comedy, JIMMY VESTVOOD: AMERIKAN HERO, a feature which he co-wrote and co-produced. He has co-starred in many additional films, including Sydney Pollack’s THE INTERPRETER, Disney’s DESCENDANTS and Ice Cube’s FRIDAY AFTER NEXT. Maz’s other standup comedy specials include IMMIGRANT, which was filmed at the prestigious Kennedy Center and is a NETFLIX original, as well as 3 additional solo specials on SHOWTIME: BROWN AND FRIENDLY, I COME IN PEACE, and I’M NOT A TERRORIST, BUT I’VE PLAYED ONE ON TV. He also has a special on PeacockTV titled PANDEMIC WARRIOR. In the Spring of 2016 he performed at the White House where he had the privilege of introducing Michelle Obama. As a UC Berkeley alum, Maz gave the keynote speech to the graduating class of 2017. Maz served as the host for the 45th International Emmy’s in New York. He was a founding member of THE AXIS OF EVIL comedy tour, which aired on Comedy Central. He is a regular panelist on NPR’s WAIT WAIT DONT TELL ME and has given 2 TED Talks. Maz executive produced EVERYTHING MUST CHANGE, a documentary about his sister’s battle with breast cancer which is currently available on iTunes.

Ray Suarez is a visiting professor of Political Science at New York University in Shanghai and the co-host of the podcast and public radio program WorldAffairs, and covers Washington for Euronews. Over the course of a long career in journalism, he has been the host of Al Jazeera America’s daily news program Inside Story, Chief National Correspondent for The PBS NewsHour, and host of NPR’s Talk of the Nation. He has been a John McCloy visiting professor of American Studies at Amherst College.

His published books include “The Holy Vote: The Politics of Faith in America,” “The Old Neighborhood: What We Lost in the Great Suburban Migration,” and the companion volume to the PBS documentary series “Latino Americans.” His most recent book, “We Are Home,” traces the emerging demographics of the US in the 21st century through in-depth interviews with immigrants from wide-ranging origins, eras and experiences.
Ray has been a frequent presenter, speaker and moderator at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland and a featured speaker at the Aspen Ideas Festival. He holds a BA in African History from New York University and an MA in Social Sciences from the University of Chicago, where he was a Benton Fellow. He also holds 15 honorary doctorates from colleges and universities across America.
A native of Brooklyn, New York, Ray is based in Philadelphia and Washington, DC. He and his wife, Carole, are parents to three adult children.

Bill Weir is a veteran anchor, writer, producer, and host who came to CNN in 2013 after a decade of award-winning journalism at ABC News.

In 2019, he was named the network’s first Chief Climate Correspondent, drawing on his experience creating and hosting the primetime CNN Original Series “The Wonder List with Bill Weir,” now streaming on Max.
With his distinctive storytelling style, lush photography and a focus on our connected planet, Weir and his team produced four seasons of the show across 28 countries, highlighting wondrous people, places, cultures, and creatures on the brink of seismic change.
In 2022, Weir earned a News & Documentary Emmy® Award for his CNN Special Report: Eating Planet Earth: The Future of Your Food, and Columbia Journalism Review called his 2020 CNN Special Report: The Road to Change “one of the very best pieces of climate journalism ever run by a mainstream US news organization.” His first book, Life As We Know It (Can Be) will be published by Chronicle Prism in April 2024.
In his network career, Weir reported from all 50 states and more than 50 countries, covering breaking news and uncovering global trends. He was among the first reporters into the floodwaters of New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina and Japan’s tsunami zone during the nuclear crisis of 2011. He dodged Taliban bullets in Afghanistan, led network coverage from Iraq and was the first American to broadcast live from Tibet. As a writer and anchor, Weir produced several special hours for CNN and ABC prime time on topics ranging from religion, brain science and Woodstock to the business of mail-order brides and the rise and fall of General Motors.
His live shots have come from atop the Golden Gate Bridge and below the waters of the Great Barrier Reef while his adventure reporting includes jumps from hot air balloons, hikes deep into the Amazon and one fun night spent lashed to the side of Yosemite’s El Capitan.
Before joining ABC News, Weir wrote and hosted projects for the FX and USA Networks and was an anchor/reporter in Los Angeles, Chicago, Green Bay and Austin, MN.
