Karen Swallow Prior, Ph. D., is a Research Professor of English and Christianity and Culture at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary and the author of a number of books. Some of her work includes: Booked: Literature in the Soul of Me (T. S. Poetry Press, 2012), Fierce Convictions: The Extraordinary Life of Hannah More—Poet, Reformer, Abolitionist (Thomas Nelson, 2014), and On Reading Well: Finding the Good Life through Great Books (Brazos, 2018).

She is an avid reader, a fierce proponent of critical thinking, and an advocate for good writing. On this episode, we dive deep into what it means to truly read and write well, how to deal with distraction and resistance in writing, and how to communicate most effectively.
