In today’s episode I’m chatting with fellow dietitian, Frances Largeman-Roth, RD, who is a best selling author, and former magazine editor. Her latest book titled Smoothies & Juices: Prevention Healing Kitchen is filled with 100 beautiful and delicious smoothie recipes, and is also rich in great health information for optimal wellness. I simply love it!
I really enjoyed my chat with Frances and learned so much, but here are some of my favorite takeaways:
Smoothies are an easy way to nourish your body with a delicious and nutritious combination of foods. Smoothies are super versatile, so feel free to experiment with them. When creating your smoothie, keep in mind that a combination of fruit and/or veggies and healthy fats and proteins is important. If you want to have more than a liquid smoothie food experience, make a smoothie bowl -- it’ll feel more like a meal and open up a number of unexpected flavor combinations. Being passionate about a project you’re taking on is key to your success. Healthy living is doing what feels right for you on any particular day, and listening to your body and what it needs.
