Original podcast description:

Welcome to another episode & today we are joined with Tony Barritt, MD of Investor in Customers.

To kick things off Tony shares his analogy that management is about 'getting things done' and leadership is more to do with 'making things happen', with favourable qualities a leader should exhibit is about being fair, the ability to make tough decisions & have a balanced judgment.

Tony shares his past experience about being the captain of his cricket team in his post-university days where it was important to find the balance between fun & winning - a helpful concept when working with teams in the workplace no doubt. We discuss the importance of being able to 'step up to the plate' and breaking large problems down and think strategically about how to solve these issues, not being too proud to ask for help, and thinking about who is needed.

To wrap things Tony shares his thoughts and the importance of relating business decisions back to the customer - with Jeff Bezos' Empty Chair Experiment - if a customer was sat in the boardroom, would they be happy and benefit from these decisions?

An insightful take on leadership from Tony whose business, at heart, is about helping their customers.
