I support brown voices

I support brown voices and especially brown women, so I’m glad this podcast exists— MashAllah’s all around. One comment: all the criticism of Princess Jasmine being played by an Indian is a bit hurtful. Being Indian and Muslim that casting choice helped me feel seen, and being a minority within a minority I don’t feel that very often. Also hating on her for being too light when (not all but a good chunk of) people from the Arab diaspora look down on Indians for being brown also rubbed me the wrong way. I get the point of the podcast isn’t to make ME feel included, but I just feel like supporting all brown folks, all brown women especially, is just a better look, and it does not help to call out someone for looking too white or two brown.

Absolutely love these two!

Thank you for this podcast! As an Armenian I LOVE THIS PODCAST. Thank you for talking about the Middle East and about everything that is happening—that mainstream media is 👏🏽IG👏🏽NOR👏🏽ING👏🏽. Anna and Shereen are down to earth, genuine, honest, and absolutely hilarious. You make me laugh, you make me cry, you make me want to listen and share this podcast with everyone (and EVERYONE should be regardless of their background.) Thank you for adding comedy and laughter to an area of the world so many people are afraid of. I love every now and then when there’s an Armenian shoutout (food/music/location etc) Much love! ~Your Armenian Sister
