I support brown voices

I support brown voices and especially brown women, so I’m glad this podcast exists— MashAllah’s all around. One comment: all the criticism of Princess Jasmine being played by an Indian is a bit hurtful. Being Indian and Muslim that casting choice helped me feel seen, and being a minority within a minority I don’t feel that very often. Also hating on her for being too light when (not all but a good chunk of) people from the Arab diaspora look down on Indians for being brown also rubbed me the wrong way. I get the point of the podcast isn’t to make ME feel included, but I just feel like supporting all brown folks, all brown women especially, is just a better look, and it does not help to call out someone for looking too white or two brown.

Entertaining and Important. WOC Rule!

This podcast has opened my eyes to all news missing from “mainstream media” about important issues in the Middle East. Thank you Anna and Shereen. You guys are amazing and your guests are truly wonderful people doing amazing things. Thanks for everything you do. I hope to see more great things from these great women of color 🙌🏾
