Eurovangelists

What has more pomp, spectacle, and sequins than the Olympics, Wrestlemania, and RuPaul's Drag Race combined? The Eurovision Song Contest, Europe’s yearly competition to determine which country has the best original song. It's an extraordinary live musical showdown in which Europe’s most dynamic singers put it all on the line in the name of national pride. And Eurovangelists, a hilarious podcast about all things Eurovision, is here to help you get in on the fun! Each week, we’ll guide you through everything you need to know about the contest that gave us ABBA, Celine Dion, and a turkey puppet singing on behalf of Ireland. Join superfans Dimitry Pompée, Oscar Montoya, and Jeremy Bent as we get entirely too excited about the latest Eurovision news, argue about which song should win this year, and explore the most inspiring, bizarre, and hilarious stories from the Contest’s start in 1956 all the way to today. Whether you’re a long-time Eurovision fan or completely new to it, we’ll make you into a Eurovangelist too!
A great way to learn about the ESC.

I had heard about Eurovision but like so many things with a deep history and lore it’s hard to know where to start. Dimitry, Jeremy and Oscar do a great job of getting their listeners ready for the upcoming contest while educating everyone about its history. It is a fun and interesting way to learn about the ESC! 5 stars all the way.
Totally Amazing!!

Recently got into Eurovision, and while I was already super into it, I was wishing to know more about the history and context of the competition!! I am a staunch no previous information Eurovision watcher so I go media black out (including this podcast 😭) on Eurovision content after songs start coming out, and then naw on all the content until the next competition
My virtual Eurovision Village

Eurovangelists has provided a welcoming community that I never knew existed - never knew I would REQUIRE! My husband and I accidentally stumbled into the world of Eurovision. We saw the delightfully stupid Will Ferrell movie in 2023 and then thought it would be "hilarious" to "go to Eurovision." Months later, in May 2024, we found ourselves packed for an international trip to Malmo, Sweden, clutching our VIP-experience tickets to the Semi-Final Round 1 rehearsal. Unbeknownst to us, our lives would be irrevocably changed that fateful May afternoon - along with those blissful surrounding days as we basked in the joy of the Eurovision Village and its charming EuroFans. We had obtusely and naively stumbled into a Brave New World we never knew existed. Afterwards, we departed Sweden with an invisible connection to this new world - and we grieved when we returned to a country devoid of Eurovision. At home, those whom we loved most were - shockingly! - either unwilling or unable to tolerate us going on about how life-changing Eurovision was. Few even knew the contest existed, and most didn't care! For a time, I lived a sad, disconnected life, tucking my Euro-joy inside and becoming irate when people talked to me about anything other than Eurovision. And then I found Eurovangelists. And I found home. I am so psyched to start a fresh new "Eurovision year" ( my new way of marking time on this earthly realm ) with Jeremy, Oscar and Dimitry. I delight in their knowledge, silliness and camaraderie they add to this virtual American-based version of the Eurovision Village. Thank you, Eurovangelists!
