In the words of Miss Phryne Fisher, "Every lady needs a hobby!" Miss Fisher's hobby is solving crimes and engaging in antics and more with handsome men including Detective Inspector Jack Robinson. Our hobby is talking about Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries one episode at a time. Whether you're watching the show for the first time and are looking for some hot takes after each episode (plus a run down of the murder and it's solving), or re-watching for the fifth or sixth time like some of us (*cough* Genevieve *cough*), re-live the drama and sexual tension of every episode with MacKenzie and Genevieve. We'll rate the murder method, call out best dressed and worst dressed, and have a lot of fun along the way.

Bonus: Miss Fisher and the Crypt of Tears (Part 2)
Sign me up for the MasterClass where Miss Fisher teaches astrolabe reading! And, perhaps camels? While we’re not sure who’s giving those camels rubdowns after the sacking of the cameleer, we have no complaints about the movie physics that result in Phryne launching out of quicksand onto Jack’s shirtless chest. Plus, of course, a somewhat … Continue reading "Bonus: Miss Fisher and the Crypt of Tears (Part 2)"

Bonus: Miss Fisher and the Crypt of Tears (Part 1)(!)
At long last, we tackle THE MISS FISHER MOVIE. In true Every Lady Needs a Hobby fashion, this episode includes a scene-by-scene recap of the first half of the movie, with exactly the right amount of digression into hastily Googled facts, tangential personal anecdotes, and discussion of how plausible Phryne’s madcap adventures are (not very, … Continue reading "Bonus: Miss Fisher and the Crypt of Tears (Part 1)(!)"

Death Do Us Part
We’ve come at last to the FINAL EPISODE. And while that kiss does wait until literally the last minute, some might argue (Genevieve) that that’s exactly perfect for a show with a permanent, sizzling undertone of unending sexual tension, some (MacKenzie) point out that they could have kissed HUNDREDS of times before the event finally … Continue reading "S3E8: Death Do Us Part"

S3E7: Game, Set & Murder
At long last, we’ve come to The Spider Episode. Not only does this episode feature a 10/10 murder method, it features A Very Healthy Amount of sexual tension. We’re left wondering: is Stanley Burrows an old friend of Aunt Prudence’s or an Old Friend? Plus, did tennis stars in the 1920s travel with a personal … Continue reading "S3E7: Game, Set & Murder"

S3E6: Death at the Grand
If you thought Phryne being able to speak Polish was the skill of the week on this one, you’d be wrong! While we think there should be altogether more ghosts in this episode, there’s just exactly the right amount of Aunt Prudence at her irate best. You know when an elderly relative dishes on your … Continue reading "S3E6: Death at the Grand"

S3E5: Death and Hysteria
Don’t you hate it when your house is overrun with women with nervous troubles? You let one in and the next thing you know you have a whole sanitarium on your hands. We’re joined by guest host Sarah and discuss the need for another episode where Phryne goes undercover at the rodeo and we get … Continue reading "S3E5: Death and Hysteria"
Customer Reviews
Different from Miss Fisher Philes, but so much fun.
Genivieve and Mackenzie are fervent fans, and while they enjoy the period details, are also equally interested in the murder, the chemistry between actors and the implausiblity of the plot. I love their little segments; rating the murder, the sexual tension, Miss Fisher skill of the week, etc.. Good job, ladies! Glad you picked this hobby.
Hilarious
Love this podcast! I have very few RL friends who appreciate my obsession with MFMM so this is great. Can’t wait for season 3 recaps!
New fan, and loving the podcast so far!
I just found Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries a week ago, and after binging all the episodes in that time span I was hungry for more and was glad to find this podcast!
I like that it’s like you’re sitting in on a convo between two of your friends and you’re discussing each episode by episode together. It’s a very nice at home feel.
