In response to a listener request (shout out to Johanna!), today I’m going to talk with you about different ways of working, including my path to self-employment.

One of the best things about careers in today’s world of work is that there are so many ways to earn a living and do work that is aligned with you, which is the basis of HEART-based career planning. I talk a lot with job seekers about the gig economy, portfolio careers, becoming independent contractors, and self-employment. So with that in mind, we will dive into the gig economy—what it is and how to leverage it; then chat about portfolio careers —or having multiple income streams.

Lastly, I’ll share my heart-based plan for self-employment.
