Dr. David Straus is a retired Professor of 32 years for the Division of Microbiology & Immunology at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center. He obtained his PHD from Loyola University from Chicago, completed his fellowship at the University of Cincinnati, and spent the majority of his career as a researcher and professor of Microbiology & Immunology at Texas Tech University.  He has completed extensive research in microbiology of indoor/outdoor air, the effects of the inhalation of fungal spores, the detection of mycotoxins in indoor air, Stachy mycotoxins, Chaetomium mycotoxins, the mechanisms of neurotoxicity of Stachy mycotoxins, the detection of trichothecene mycotoxins in human serum, & molds, mycotoxins, in sick building syndrome.
