Welcome to Extraordinary, my retelling of the story of my almost rape and violent stabbing in 2018 from my perspective, as well as from the perspectives of some of my closest friends and family. My hope is that this story, and the stories of the extraordinary people who helped me along the way, will inspire a better understanding of the effects of extreme violence, PTSD and recovery on individuals and the people supporting them. Raw, Compelling, Captivating
While listening to Leigh’s story, it becomes quickly apparent that we aren’t simply hearing a retelling of survival and healing, we are hearing it processed in real time. The layers of fight, pain, anger, relief and love unfold with each episode, both in the recounting of the events, and through Leigh’s thoughtful reflection, self-awareness and strength.
Even though the content is triggering, Leigh has succeeded in making the podcast a safe space for herself and for her listeners. Take care of yourselves, take care of each other and definitely give this podcast a listen.
