He was born in Memphis and raised in Knoxville, TN and began playing piano and bass at an early age. His father Donald Brown is a world-renowned jazz pianist/composer having performed with many greats and he first learned to play songs of R&B artists like Stevie Wonder by ear and then started classical piano lessons at 8yrs old. The whole project is an attempt to answer Haruki Murakami’s questions how would Charlie Parker have sounderd hade he not died in 1955, but after several years of recovery, he returned to playing the saxophone and in 1963 when bossa nova was popular & released a bossa nova album ..
