Fantasy Baseball Podcast: Baseball Is Back, The 60 Game Season, & NL DH Candidates

Fantasy Baseball Podcast: Baseball Is Back, The 60 Game Season, & NL DH Candidates

We recorded an episode over the weekend before the news broke. I was drunk, Grey was handsome, and baseball seemed very unlikely. This show will never see the light of day, as MLB decided to blindside us with actual baseball! Knowing this new, uh, news, Grey and I got on the line and said, "We gotta give the people the good new, uh, news!" So like a couple of missionaries stationed in a foreign land, we brought the good news. The news of baseball's return and the glorious idea of the NL DH. Due to our excitement around the potential boost for several NL players in fantasy, Grey and I go team by team breaking down viable DH candidates for every club. It's a glorious return to baseball!

Fantasy Baseball Podcast: Baseball is Back! Post MLB Draft Prospect Celebration

Fantasy Baseball Podcast: Baseball is Back! Post MLB Draft Prospect Celebration

Baseball is coming! The spring was dark and full of terror. But the Lord of Light is generous and merciful, so a 60-game baseball season will lead us out of the darkness!

I'm joined by prospect wizards, The Itch and Hobbs, on this week's celebratory Goin' Deep Podcast. Off the bat we discuss a few of the ins and outs of the forthcoming MLB season and what it might mean for prospects and your fantasy baseball leagues. Then we dive into the 2020 MLB Draft results as Hobbs and Itch share which teams landed their favorite draft classes and why. Later the prospectors divulge which players from the draft we might actually see up during this shortened 2020 season, including Max Meyer and Burl Carraway. Hobbs also discusses a few of the names from his Pre-Draft and Post-Draft Prospect Sleepers.

Oh and if you missed it, the Razzball Prospect Podcast is back as The Itch gave you his debut solo podcast earlier this week. Look for more prospect podcasts featuring both Hobbs and The Itch, coming soon. Play Ball!

Fantasy Baseball Podcast: Interview With Shelly Verougstraete

Baking, Baseball, and Baseball not being played that's the theme for this week's show as Shelly Verougstraete of several websites (Rotographs, Dynasty Guru, Pitcher List, Prospects 365, and Over the Monster) and the best baking Instagram you'll ever witness joins us. We indulge in our virtual sweet tooth as Grey and Shelly talk baking and I just drool at Shelly's Instagram. Boy that sounds different when read aloud. No matter, we get into last week's draft and some of the top fantasy names to look for, as well as discuss a little of the current MLB versus MLBPA drama. It's another can't miss episode of the Razzball podcast.

Fantasy Baseball Podcast: Interview With Randy Wilkins

Fantasy Baseball Podcast: Interview With Randy Wilkins

After a tumultuous week in the news for both national issues of race as well as MLB's current negotiations we found it only fitting to bring on someone with a great deal of insight on both race relations and how it relates to MLB. Our guest Randy Wilkins is a Filmmaker, Director of the AppleTV Show "Dear...", as well as the director of ESPN 30 for 30 Short 86-32 (which you can watch at that link) and Docket 32357. Additionally, he provides Yankees analysis in his free time. Oh, and BTW our dude owns a few Emmys. It's a riveting discussion and one worth tuning into for Randy's perspective alone. A few times we mention his Twitter thread that went viral, that's here:

I am going to write some tweets about the MLB statement since this combines two things that I care deeply about: social justice and baseball. I will try my best to make them coherent so bear with me.

Fantasy Baseball Podcast: 2020 MLB Draft, College Prospects With Hobbs and The Itch

Fantasy Baseball Podcast: 2020 MLB Draft, College Prospects With Hobbs and The Itch

B_Don and Donkey Teeth are back to talk some college prospects leading up to the MLB Draft with 2 resident Razzball prospectors, Hobbs and The Itch. We start by discussing the newest proposal from the MLBPA and how a shortened season might affect our willingness to play in high stakes leagues.

Then, we move on to discuss Hobbs's top 10 college prospects. We start with at the top with Spencer Torkelson, the projected #1 pick. Hobbs and The Itch talk us through what kind of profile we can expect from Torkelson and whether they'd have a comparable asset from last year's draft, Andrew Vaughn. We then ask our prospect gurus to give us some information on the top college pitchers including: Reid Detmers, Emerson Hancock, Max Meyer, and Asa Lacy.

Our analysts then move on to discuss how this different season could affect this, and future, drafts along with how a minor league system may look down the line. Finally, we wrap up with some Jasson Dominguez talk to find out if he's worth all of the hype.

Great college prospect information

Just listened to the June 4th episode. I’ve been reading Razzball articles for fantasy baseball info but this was the first Razzball podcast I’ve listened to. I was very impressed. The conversations and perspectives kept me listening and I was blown away by the wealth of college prospect insight that Hobbs brought to the table. The discussions between Hobbs and The Itch made the episode. I would love to hear more from them. This podcast is a hidden gem that deserves more attention. I will certainly be listening more often.

Yancy best guest ever

Yancy is so smart and insightful. Yeah his audio sounded like he was recording from a port-a-potty and he says like more than a 20 year old valley girl but still. So lit.

Great info and entertaining

Love the material and in depth information and breakdown of all the positions in fantasy baseball. Don’t mind the botching of a lot of player names lol. Great for players playing large leagues with more position spots and larger drafts
