Resistance to the utilization of medical AI is driven by both the subjective difficulty of understanding algorithms, an occurrence is also known as a ’Black Box”, and by an illusory subjective understanding of human medical decision-making. In other words, we have difficulties understanding complex algorithms. The processes that go on inside the black box are so complex, we can’t always inherently understand or explain them. The question is: Do we need to?
