Technology, K-Beauty, and The Future of Beauty with Author Elise Hu
In this provocative interview, NPR host-at-large Elise Hu, author of the new book Flawless: Lessons in Looks and Culture from the K-Beauty Capital, talks about the rise of South Korean pop culture and its effect on global beauty standards. She explains how A.I.-generated photo filters can perpetuate discrimination; why “beauty work” now begins in elementary school; and what you can do to find balance in a culture that equates self-improvement with empowerment. Customer Reviews
My favorite podcast!
I look forward to a new episode each week. It's the highlight of my work week. Jenn and Jess are so fun and informative. My wallet hates them however, because I've been introduced to some wonderful products from the post.
Update- I've been listening from the beginning and I still ADORE Jess and Jenn. If you're a beauty junkie you NEED THIS PODCAST.
trash
trash show. these hosts know nothing. much better beauty podcasts out there like skincare anarchy, gloss angels, and some more but this show definitely should be cancelled at this point.
These two are knowledgeable and so fun
I’m a relatively newbie to FM- like 4ish months. I’m surprised by some of the negative reviews. I have listened - and stopped listening- to other pods bc the hosts were SOOO judgy. I don’t get that at all from these two. I love listening to them and all their beauty stuff they do and the openings/launches/shows they go to. This suburban girl is living for their exciting NY lives and discussions of some of the same beauty issues I’m going thru as a late 40s mom. I know they are a beauty pod - would love to hear them talk about their overall style as well. Love u J & J!!!
