stories are compelling but.....
the storyteller is not so good. i hate to say that but there’s no emotion or cadence or storytelling drama. it’s just a dispassionate read through. i don’t know - maybe that’s as it should be for these kind of horrific crime stories
Appreciate the Intriguing Stories
Like you, Beth, I am drawn to true crime stories. It’s interesting to delve into the mind of someone who’s evil nature defies humanity. You have chosen some of the more perplexing and complex cases.
I could not give this podcast 5 stars, however. Following is my constructive criticism:
Your voice and delivery lack the intensity of an adept storyteller. Your affect is a bit flat. It can be sing song at times. Also, your vocabulary is limited. Consider using more descriptive terms. A thesaurus might be a great tool for you.
In addition, please work on your grammar and sentence structure. The over-use of prepositions such as “and, so, now and but” create run on sentences. Occasionally pausing before you deliver a shocking piece of the story will set your listeners up for the impact.
Try listening to the Wondery podcasts. Their storytellers draw the listener in. They articulate their consonants as well. This ensures a crisp delivery.
I am going to continue to listen to this podcast because I enjoy the content. I wish you all the best in your endeavors.
Totally addicted already!! You are great at getting the story told, holding my attention can’t stop listening!! Keep it up please!!!
