Customer Reviews
Very well balanced
I’d say the main thing that sets this QL podcast apart from others is the two host are blatantly fans & nerds for the OG series. But it is excellent at in depth reviews & critiques. They are very thoughtful & educated in their discussions. They are good at being critical of shortcomings, but seeing it with grace for the time it was filmed. Just love it because it is engaging & thoughtful without being too overtly harsh or excessively complimentary
Strong Fan-based Podcast
This is definitely the go to podcast for Quantum Leap fans, both those of the original series and those of the new one. Sam and Dennis are knowledgeable, funny, and honest when it comes to discussing the positives and yes the negatives of QL. They are not blind faith fans where QL can do no wrong and for me those are the people I like to hear from more than the “true believers. “When an episode has a problem they have no issues calling it out, rightfully so.
If I had one nitpick with them it’s that they will sometimes inject a little too much 21st century sensibility into a show from the 1990s. Yes we get that a lot of what happens is problematic based upon how society is today. But that is going to be true of almost all TV shows and movies back then.
Keep up the good work and keep making those connections to Star Trek whenever you can
Excellent QL Podcast
I’m a longtime QL fan who only recently discovered this podcast after news of the new QL series started coming out and I went searching for a podcast that could help rekindle my appreciation for the classic series (through listening to back episodes) as well as give me something to listen to as the new series premiered (by listening to each week’s new podcast episode).
I immediately connected with this podcast and its hosts. Their knowledge of QL lore is obvious, as is their enthusiasm for both the classic and the new series. I enjoyed hearing their insights and reflections as they looked back on the classic series from a modern perspective, and I enjoy their weekly discussions as each episode of the new series comes out.
My favorite thing about this podcast is how the hosts’ love for QL absolutely shines throughout. Even when they're criticizing certain aspects of an episode, they do it in a constructive way that only serves to highlight how much the series means to them. It’s refreshing—when so much of fandom these days just seems to be about finding things to attack and complain about—to find a podcast where any criticism that they have is done respectfully and clearly comes from a place of love for the show and it’s characters rather than just an opportunity angrily rant and complain.
Can’t recommend this podcast enough. It’s a great listen for new and old fans alike.
