The "cool kids" use FCPX

In 1999 when FCP was first introduced, those coding the program didn’t foresee unlimited SD cards, RED footage, hundreds of hours of material, reality TV, 64bit processors, advanced color grading, HD, 2k, 4K, 8k, Metal, 4K iphones… so why would the tools created in those times still be applicable today. Well, they wouldn’t!

So, let's get into it.
If you’re a listener then you’re probably either an editor, a filmmaker, a media creator, or an aspiring creative.

Chris is a professional editor working in an industry in which professionals are very protective, proud, and even defensive about the tools they use.
Chris’ take on FinalCutProX is that it’s gotten the cold shoulder from the filmmaking and editing community since their notoriously fumbled launch.

[When Apple launched FCPX in June 2011 much of the community that supported the now defunct FCP7(classic) felt in some sense betrayed and confused by Apple’s “new groove” in the post iPhone/iPad era. Many editors jumped ship over to Adobe Premiere (“FCP8”), as others scattered back to AVID: whereby ignoring how Apple was re-inventing the edit process with a tool that changed many of the paradigms of track based editing.]

Simply, this podcast is Mr. Fenwick's attempt to bring in professionals from within the editorial and filmmaking community to share their more POSITIVE experiences with FCPX and their general experience in the media creative landscape.

I’m a fan. My suggestion, Hop on this podcast and grab a sandwich at the grill. The conversations lasts about an hour.

Great stories from FCPx users around the world.
