Against All Odds with Spencer Anderson
A U.S. Air Force Vietnam war veteran, former pilot, and schoolteacher/counselor turned published author, Spencer Anderson is a true example of defeating the odds to have it all!
At age 25, Spencer suffered a brain aneurysm that would leave him permanently paralyzed on the right side of his body.
Instead of letting his paralysis stop him from living, Spencer decided to make his disability his trademark by defeating the odds and finding ways to navigate through life to conquer his dreams.
2007, he fulfilled one of those dreams by gaining his pilot’s license. Scared but determined, he worked hard and even gained enough hours that first year to fly the skies solo for the first time.
Then, in 2012, he turned another dream into reality when he became a published author for the first time.
Since then, Spencer has turned his passion for aviation into a series of compelling fiction-based-on-fact books about action and adventure built around true events in time.
He has also gone on to accomplish many other dreams, like painting paintings in the style of his favorite artists!
He lives out his days traveling the country with his wife on book tours and setting new dreams and goals to accomplish.
“Life is more than what you appear to be,” says Spencer. “Life is what you define for yourself inside.”
Although he has accomplished many dreams in life, Spencer says his greatest accomplishment has been spending the last 22 years with the love of his life, his wife, Carole.
Listen in as Spencer and I sit down to discuss how he turned a life-long disability into a trademark on navigating through life to go after your dreams and how showing others to do the same has led him to a life of FEARLESS HAPPYNESS!
