Feature: Amar Panchal, The Beauty in Hitting Rock Bottom START with Morgan Myles

"You're going to make it. It will be hard but I'm telling you, you're going to make it."
In this episode of START, I spoke with Amar Panchal, Founder of Axis Axis Therapy & Performance in Toronto. We speak about both our stories hitting rock bottom, pushing through and coming out stronger.
While growing up, Amar's life was not that of a typical high school student. The series of events that transpired escalated to unimaginable levels, causing mental health issues, friends committing suicide, many physical altercations, and ultimately the loss of his best friend. Left with a giant void and years of blaming himself, Amar fell in and out of depression, struggled with anxiety attacks, abused drugs, and almost took his own life, all while pretending as though everything was fine. Looking for ways to maintain his sanity, the gym became the light that helped him take back control of his life.

Flash forward to the present – Despite the pandemic, and having a newborn at home, Amar decided to quit his six-figure salary to focus on his passion. Since then, Amar, now the Managing Director, expanded Axis Therapy & Performance and is now looking at expanding to a second location with a team of strong, like-minded therapists who are coached and mentored, not managed.
