Episode Recap The episode opens on Laconia with the strange ship in the sky blinking protomolecule blue lights, as Admiral Duarte watches from below with great intensity.   Elsewhere, Cara returns to her worried parents, but she brings a surprise – her no longer dead brother, Xan.  As the almost zombie like Xan approaches them, her parents realize the danger and Cara pretends to run out of their home.  She has tricked them, and leads her brother into the forest, where we see her through Xan’s eyes, glowing with the blue protomolecule particles dancing around her.  On the Zenobia, Avasarala, UNN and MCRN representatives, Drummer, Holden and Bobbie review options to stop Inaros before he gets to the Ring and Medina Station.  The Free Navy and Alliance fleets are evenly matched, and the UNN, MCRN, and friendly Belter assets will each pursue one of the three Free Navy groups.  The Roci crew has a Plan B.  They will rendezvous with the Giambattista and join an assault team.  If they can take out Medina Station’s targeting and comm arrays, they can […]

Love the detailed analysis

Of Expanse but sometimes the audio feedback
and hearing different voices makes me have to restless and I have to fast forward - prefer to just hear host read it aloud.

Perfect Podcast ‘eh

Starts with a brief opening followed by an episode recap and then listener feedback. The show description gives you the time stamps. If you want to dive right in to the next show, you can listen to as little or as much listener feedback as you want and I very much enjoy perspectives from all over the world and particularly the various accents, including the host from Canada.
Sadly, I’m watching/listening after the show is complete and won’t be able to contribute to the feedback but thank you to all of you who contributed. Your feedback is both informative and entertaining.

Extremely earnest recap podcast by a solo host, augmented by listener feedback

I’m binging the podcast now, just starting on season 2, so these are my thoughts so far. I’m coming to the pod after having watched all six seasons of The Expanse twice-through already, and looking for further insight/discussion. (I’ve also since read books 7, 8, and 9 — the ones that the show never got to cover.)

I’m a big fan of movies-by-minute podcasts, which tend to be a bit more comedic, so at first I found the “Solo Talk" format a bit odd. But I’ve come to appreciate host Mark Des Cotes’ approach to breaking down the show. The podcast’s strengths are Mark's methodical step-through of each episode and his thoughtful commentary. I also enjoy hearing the feedback from Mark’s community of listeners, particularly regular commentators like "J.P. from Brooklyn”!

It’s a Canada-based podcast, and it feels very much so (whatever that means!), which seems appropriate given how many Canadian actors appeared on The Expanse.

One thing the podcast lacks is that there’s really very little discussion of the actor’s performances, which is so important to every dramatization. Nor is there much analysis of the show’s larger themes, particularly those related to its portrayal of 23rd-century socioeconomics and interplanetary politics. I do wish the podcast had a bit more inherent humor, especially as a counterpoint to the often-grim tone of The Expanse itself. But these are just nitpicks — if you’re a fan of The Expanse TV series and books, and are looking for hours and hours of deep-dive analysis, this is the podcast for you!
