In the days before syndicated stations and 24 hour programming, television stations often showed old monster movies hosted by local on-air talent. It is in this spirit that “Test Pattern” is made – a little bit spooky, a little bit silly, but always informative! Jacob and Tab have a new topic each week, with a focus on the macabre offerings shown on television starting in the mid 1950s, favorite creature features, and B-movies (with occasional forays into the outer realms of horror).

Great chemistry
Really enjoy this podcast. The hosts are informative and they both truly respect the movies they review even if they don’t like the film. I also like they talk facts and their opinions without interrupting each other. They do their research even on their favorite movies and give great insights. Highly recommend!!!

I’m an old man, but even I can’t listen to a full hour of “man interrupts woman.”
Horrorific and Wholesome
A joy to listen to. Listening to Jacob and Tab is simultaneously like listening to one of the most fascinating special features you could find about any horror movie and yet also like chatting with old friends and sharing your love for something. It’s a joy and a pleasure every time there’s a new episode and Test Pattern is a perfect way to discover hidden gems or reminisce about old classics.
