32: Wildlife Research & Zookeeping with the Founder of Women in Wildlife Eliza Stott

Hey all! 2022 was a crazy year and I got behind on the podcast. I’m so excited to be getting episodes out that are long overdue, however some of the information may be a bit out of date. I recommend giving our guest, Eliza Stott, a follow and checking out the amazing things she and Women in Wildlife has done since this program was recorded!

This interview was with Eliza Stott, founder of Women in Wildlife and an amazing zookeeper and animal enthusiast. We chatted about what it takes to get a zookeeping job in Australia, her studies on parasites in wombats and other Australian species, and she walked me through her amazing travel plans to work with animals around the world (be sure to take a look at her social media to see her adventures!)
Thanks as always for your support, looking forward to having more episodes out soon 😊 Take care of yourself y’all!

We learn all about her tips for feeding and housing isopods, talk about the legalities of shipping isopods, and we express a mutual amazement (and a bit of fear) for the giant marine isopods!

Great podcast

The cohost talks way too much. Often interrupting the guest while they are saying something interesting. She needs to learn that people don’t come to this podcast to listen to her. We come to listen to the guests.

Is Joe ever coming back?

Is there going to be a regular show again? Dominique is very knowledgeable however the topic of conversation on being non binary or a woman in the hobby is becoming draining as a regular listener. I’m here to learn about reptiles and hear about the collections of amazing people- I don’t care if they are men women whatever. This isn’t denying that there are people who the hobby has been and is less welcoming to; however we don’t need to hear about that every week and what it was like to be XYZ in the reptile community or if we do can you get your own feed? This podcast is so far from Joe’s format and content it shouldn’t be under the same label.
