Just Desserts
The AFLW finals series is offering up some sweet treats. Emma, Rana and Lucy shared their highlights, and discussed their reaction to extra rounds in the AFLM, the ongoing floating fixture for AFLW, and a new betting scandal.
We mentioned a few articles on gambling:
This article calling for more to be done to protect young Australians from sports betting
A survey of club leaders found that almost three quarters think the amount of gambling advertising in footy is excessive
Voters want gambling banned from sports sponsorship

Live Ladder
This week Tess, Lucy and Nic discuss the increasing number of athletes finding their political voices, and the role of sponsorship in sport. We review - in true Sanctum style - the AFLW teams whose seasons have ended, and turn to Siren co-founder and commentator extraordinaire, Gemma Bastiani, for her tips for the first week of the finals.

Made me love footy again
I was so sick of mainstream footy coverage and this podcast was my saving grace. It’s the only mid week content I consume. Each host is thoughtful, smart, authentic and they know their footy. Highly recommend to AFLM and AFLW fans alike. Go footy!
So much more than footy
Started listening in the first season of AFLW, and have become completely hooked by the commentary and discussion. This podcast is so much more than sports. It's about culture, leadership, coaching, respect, inclusion, and so much more -- just using footy as the lens to focus all these ideas.
My only complaint is that I want it all year round, not just when footy is on.
Courageous.
What separates the good sports pods from the great ones is how well they cover every aspect of the sport, from on the field, down to the cultural aspects of it. The half dozen hosts of the OSP are passionate about the game of footy, not just as journalists and observers, but as fans of the game. To touch on subjects such as sexism, racism, bigotry and the like is downright courageous, but it is counterbalanced by the fun takes on aspects of the sport. Moreover, the hosts themselves are just fun to listen to. I feel like I'm sitting at a table outside a restaurant listening to six friends talk about Aussie Rules. Fantastic, and worth a listen.
