Love the White Tiger episode

I was searching for recaps on Netflix movie “The White Tiger”, and found this podcast. I was really impressed with the hosts’ understanding of the subject matter, her research, and her personality—bringing her perspective of watching the film as a conscious a Black woman living in the United States. I am of Indian origin, both having spent time in India in the United States, and I was pleasantly surprised by how nuanced the host’s take was on the movie given her perspective. I enjoyed that she shared what she learned, and also shared what she was still curious about. Great vibe too. Straight talk, a podcast with a cozy feel, with someone who is really talking about culture in a way that’s her passion as a DIY project. She puts so much time and energy into the shows, I encourage people to listen and support this show.

Serendipitous Search!

I was searching on Pandora for the
Lovecraft Country (my all time obsession!) Soundtrack... ans happily stumbled upon BaeBaltimore’s Podcast!
Her voice is clear, soothing and mellifluous, like a fine single malt whiskey after a long day at work.
I continued listening on my car ride home and into the house, whilst walking the dog, and right into making dinner.
I nodded in appreciation like when one meets a kindred soul at an intimate dinner party and enjoys sharing thoughts and learning even more about a common cause or interest.
I have subscribed and will donate.
Thanks for what you do.
The arts, music, culture, politics, history and literature matter more than ever now. So do the words of those who love all of the above.

Thoughtful and informative

I stumbled upon this podcast due to an obsession the the show “Fleabag”, which I had searched on. After listening to several other disappointing podcasts discuss the show, I found this one and was thoroughly impressed!!!

It’s random because this podcast isn’t focused on reviewing TV shows or anything. It just happened to be something she had gotten into lately and had things to discuss.

The good stuff:
- very high quality recording
- the one plug she did was actually of interest and valuable to me (Anchor)
- her voice is great! Pleasant, but not put-you-to-sleep relaxing. Very comfortable and engaging.
- the flow was conversational but clearly tight and well planned, not rambling

The great stuff:
- deeply empathetic review of Fleabag, which is in itself a deeply empathetic show.
- caught really interesting points in the show, and brought new ideas and perspectives that gave me something to think about
- rightly pointed out cultural problems with the show and a lack of people of color, but was able to engage beyond that while still not letting the show off the hook
- mentioned her Juneteenth show, which after enjoying this so much, intrigued me. I listened to this year’s and last year’s and I’m so glad I did! I learned so much!!

This was such a pleasant surprise to find. I’ve listened to podcasts from major networks who are focused on only reviewing entertainment which weren’t nearly as high quality and insightful as this wonderful podcast! Keep doing what you are doing, BaeBaltimore!!!
