Andrew Sheehan, Head of Marketing at RECRUITERS.ie was interviewed on 2fm's "the Jennifer Zamparelli show" again this morning. Another guest (a journalist), had just moved back to Kerry from Dublin, full time, working remotely. Before approaching your boss and jumping on this romantic vision, please remember the following:
- It's easier for journalists: they have always worked solo. Consider your industry and what you do;
- Brexit is looming: more change is coming;
- Winter is coming: Kerry looks a lot different in the winter as will your mental health;
- Cost of living: A lower cost of living in the countryside means companies don't have to pay you as much;
- A vaccine will come: And when it does, employers will want you back in the office for the good of the company, its culture and the people that are part of it.
- New year, new plans: You don't always know what your employers have planned, don't get stuck in the mud.

As we all know, Christmas and year-end’s can be a stressful time both personally and professionally. The latest findings by the Economic and Social research institute showed that in a five-year period between 2010 and 2015, the percentage of the workforce experiencing stress had more than doubled in Ireland.

So this week, we handed the mic over to one of Ireland’s leading Editors, Jenny Darmody. Jenny is the Careers Editor at Silicon Republic and constantly writes about changes in the workplace and what the future of work means.

If you haven’t already guessed it, Jenny is also extremely passionate about mental wellbeing and maintaining a healthy work-life balance, even as the lines between work and life continue to blur.

As the year draws to a close, we wanted to take an episode and use it to share some behind the scenes insights into a common grey area in the marketing mix – Events. We handed the mike over to one of Ireland’s leaders in this space, Jamie White.

Jamie takes us behind the scenes and explains why he's invested so heavily in events as part of his marketing mix, how he measures their success, and the principles at play to get a head start with your future events.

Wendy’s no stranger to Sales and indeed, the software industry, having worked as Head of UKI Mid-Market Sales at AdRoll, Director of EMEA Core Enterprise Sales at Dropbox as well as other household brands such as Facebook, Goldman Sachs and Davy before joining the CarGuru’s team in at the beginning of the year.
