Are you Afraid of Are you Afraid of the Dark Derek Ender Lee

Derek is pretty intolerable and spends a lot of time sexualizing children and imagining them doing “pants stuff” but I think it’s all in good fun. I think.

A guy that sounds like he has a mouth three times too big for his body and a monotone dude review are you afraid of the dark episodes with a really funny lady who knows a bunch of cool movie references. Generally they are decently funny. Occasionally they drag bits out too long. Sometimes they do weird things like harp about characters flirting in uncomfortably outdated ways in the host segments and then make pedophilia jokes repeatedly in the same episode. I suggest hopping between episodes you remember because the big named ones are usually high quality episodes

Derek, the primary host, is the single worst host of any podcast I have ever heard. Consistently unsuccessful blue humor aside, I’ve never witnessed a host of a podcast actively working against his co-hosts the entire time. He is always cutting other’s off, derailing their line of thought, and constantly ruining punchlines so that he can get the last word in. I get the sense that everyone else knows how mentally unwell Derek is so they humor him as much as they can. I loved when he was highlighting other socially conscious podcasts to listen to but that is about the only nice thing I can say about this man. Tori is equally awful. Bree is a saint and her husband is relatively funny too. Bree is hands down the funniest of the group but half of her punchlines get buried under the mouthbreathing, self-congratulating mutterings of Derek.

If the podcast were just Bree and her husband it would be great. Derek is unlistenable.
