Episode 20 - Resurgence of African Power

Is African unification dead? Are there people of African descent who are woke, ready and passionate to create positive change here in Toronto?

Tomorrows show encompasses stories that are nothing short of awesomeness. Faced with being marginalized, oppressed and slowed down by the systems of colonization, this group in Toronto have still managed to overcome, unify and co-create spaces that empower African people.

Those of you who are not of African descent may be asking yourselves “ Why does this concern me? Why is this important?” Before I answer this question, I ask you to take a small journey with me. Imagine that you were ripped from your homeland and taken to a foreign land and were enslaved, your elders killed, your way of life destroyed and homeland taken over, your hopes and dreams stripped from you and the light of wisdom that came from your ancient spiritual modalities stolen and hidden from you. How would you feel? This is what the ancestors of African people went through and that’s a really basic depiction of it. It was far worse than most of you can ever imagine especially if you come from a cultural background where your people did not suffer such a cruel fate. 

As a result of colonization, the African community around the world were dropped into an abyss of darkness and they endured many kinds of abuse due to the cruelty of their colonizers. Many Africans also became a people of amnesia, not being educated on the importance of their true African roots remaining disconnected from the wealth of wisdom that stems from ancient Africa.

It is only natural that a schism take place within the African community, where they evolved into a new people. A people whose primary inheritance was pain. They were largely disconnected from their roots, a people who operated with fear/ sadness/lower vibrations, stuck in confusion and were largely made to be stuck in a vulnerable state of constant survival, never having the opportunity to have the privileges that many other cultural groups have had as their God/Goddess given rights were taken away through violence. The loss of African Sovereignty is still something many Africans fight for today as our struggles continue. 

Now to circle back to the question I posed above - Why is this important to you? It is important firstly that you expand your heartsease, if you haven’t already and have some sympathy and compassion for what these members of our Human family have gone through. Try for a moment to place yourselves in their shoes. If you grew up in an oppressed community such as this, how would you feel? How would you feel if your ancestors were put through such atrocities? Also think about how these atrocities would affect future generations. Question whether or not you feel an oppressed people such as this would be able to express their highest potentials and become powerful contributors to our Human Civilization. Once you have taken the time to do this, you should have come to a place where you have answered the above questions for yourself, if you are a person of truth integrity, authenticity and honour.
 

Reality Check —> An evil done to one group, is an evil done to all of us. Until we all come to this truth, we will see such atrocities continue to repeat and this planet will never know true peace. No cultural group on this planet should have ever experienced something so horrid and saddening. This situation is also not dissimilar to what Aboriginal nations have gone through.

Episode 19 - Reclaiming our Sovereignty

We have entered into a new cycle of energy on this planet. Things a shifting dramatically on a daily basis. There is a new process underway where we are remembering who we are, we are opening our eyes to new truths and we are expanding our perceptions of reality at a fierce speed never before seen on this planet. For many, this process has involved waking up to the darker parts of our collective experience and the darker parts of ourselves and this has been a huge undertaking and should not be taken lightly. 

This meant going deep down the into the proverbial rabbit hole. Learning the truths about our human origins, ancient history and the lies that have transpired within our lifespan. Going from the truth about 911 to Banksters. From oil and gas tyranny to Nikola Tesla. From Roswell to NASA flight missions. From Obelisks to the Vatican. From 1950’s ad men to Monsanto. From the implementation of water fluoridation to the destruction of our oceans. From urban development to homesteading. From rising cancer rates to natural holistic medicine. 

We have been doing a dance and balancing act between unlearning the lies we have been told about our world and ourselves and unlearning toxic mental programs, releasing past pain and imagining a new way to see the world and our place in it. The consequences of this process may have involved going through many crises on many levels of one's personal life. For many, it has been painful, but quite rewarding to arrive at a place of greater self-empowerment, self-knowledge, and self-understanding. 

On tomorrows show, I am going to be talking again with Troy Megill about taking back our power and reclaiming our sovereignty so that we can realize the collective dream of peace and abundance for all people and also return to the ancient practices of stewardship of our planet.

The moment we took our first breath on this planet, our awareness became automatically subjected to the cultural norms that existed within the communities that we lived in.

We were not told that we had the freedom to choose what was healthy for us and what wasn’t. Cultural norms are the standards we live by. They are the shared expectations and rules that guide behaviour of people within social groups. Cultural norms are learned and reinforced from parents, friends, teachers and others while growing up in a society.

Entertaining the thought of breaking free of certain cultural programs is very risky for many people. The possibility of being stigmatized, marginalized, abused and left out in the cold for not conforming to what is culturally accepted in a particular community is a reality that many people on this planet know all to well.

Whether you are stepping outside of your religion, country, gender assignment, spiritual belief systems, political belief systems, monetary belief systems, medical belief systems etc, it is not an easy path to walk, but it is very necessary if we are going to evolve and continue to heal and transform this world into one that is peaceful and equitable for all people.

Are you ready to destroy the shackles of Oppression? Are you apart of an oppressed community? Are you tired of being oppressed financially? Have you ever wondered if equity is possible for all people? On tomorrows episode, we dive deeper into the world of Permaculture - with guest > Spirit Pilkington. On the last part of this series, he shared his wisdom and insights on what permaculture is in his community and how it is a way of life which supports the betterment of all things on this planet. Tomorrow he and I will be exploring how Permaculture can be a positive solution for oppressed communities of people.

The following 3 area’s of oppression have affected millions of people for hundreds of years


1. Colonialism - decolonization work
2. Capitalism - new conscious economy
3. Classism - Equity for all people




The overwhelm of death, trauma and violence that many communities of people across the globe have felt due to oppression in these above-mentioned areas has continued for centuries on this planet. When colonists introduced their toxic culture to the globe, they left a wake of death and destruction, across many continents. Toxic systems of control were introduced to the areas which they colonized, that systematically oppressed and stripped the livelihood away from many communities of people; for example African people, Aboriginal People, Indian People, and Chinese People.



A great sense of loss and grief flooded the lands as many people were murdered and their spiritual and agricultural systems which were beneficial to the Earth were lost. The exploitation of oppressed people and their lands of these regions resulted in creating future generations with amnesia - survivors who have slowly lost connection to their ancestral roots and ways of life.



As we fast-forward to 2019, there is a spiritual quickening occurring on Planet Earth, where people are waking up more to their spiritual essence, connection to nature and wanting to rediscover the wisdom of their ancestors.

The era of global oppression is truly coming to a close as many are choosing a new radical direction, deviating from consumerism, affluenza, media manipulation and choosing to lessen their participation in the slave matrix. Many people are returning to earth stewardship, living in harmony with the planet, becoming more self-sufficient, contributing to food security, expanding awareness & consciousness, becoming more compassionate, building community, seeking justice for communities of oppressed or marginalized people, seeking truth and reconnecting with the wisdom of our ancestors.



There is a courageous global tribe of people on this planet who refuses to give up or give in to this slave matrix, eternal optimists who know that there are real-world solutions right here, right now that can be implemented and they strive to do their part and put in the work.
