Talking Creating an Audio Drama and The Writing Process with Elizabeth Thomas ('The Descent' Audio Series)
Elizabeth is the producer and director of three part audio drama 'The Descent'. She is also the co-founder of independent production company The 7th Wall.
For my Season 3 finale, we spoke about how 'The Descent' came to being, as well as the writing process for a podcast series. Episode 1 releases to every podcast platform on Tuesday 25th February 2020, with new episodes releasing monthly.

Talking Parkour and Having an Inclusive Space with Kel Glaister ('Melbourne In Motion')
Kel is a parkour (free running) athlete and instructor. She currently teaches courses on parkour and other movement based activities for Melbourne In Motion, which aims to be inclusive for anyone in the community who wants to take part regardless of age and gender.
We talk about parkour's peaks and troughs in popularity, how an injury inspired Kel to stop being fearful and get into parkour, dispelling the myths about parkour being 'dangerous' like some may think it is, and how free running can strengthen your mind and body.

Talking Thriving After and Destigmatising Cancer with Esther Xu
Esther is a gastric lymphoma survivor (or 'thriver' as she likes to be called), who has been cancer free for over three years. She is using her experiences to create video interviews with other thrivers to share cancer stories. Esther also plans on performing public speaking to Chinese and Chinese Australian communities to destigmatise the concept of cancer, which is still considered taboo in that country.
We talk about the triggers which made her go to the specialist for a check up, her diagnosis and treatment, the stigma around cancer in China, and how she has made the most of her 'second life' after her treatment and successful remission (or 'reason for mission', also what she prefers to say). It was a pleasure talking to a fellow thriver like her.

Ryan is the co host of movie review podcast Spit and Polish Presents...... Previously he was unemployed for four years before eventually finding casual work. According to Ryan, it wasn't Centrelink that was giving him trouble, it was those who he put all his faith in to help him find employment.
We talk about the shocking financial and psychological abuse that he faced with employment agencies, the toll that it took on his relationship and his mental health, and how he was able to find work and get out of this cycle of despair.

Ben is an actor, comedian, writer and game designer. He produces, co-writes and acts in the BBC audio comedy series 'Night Terrace' starring Jackie Woodburne (Susan Kennedy from 'Neighbours'). Season Three and a mini-series are due to be released in 2020.
He is also the host of 'Pratchat', a book club podcast where he and his co-host review and discuss a Terry Pratchett novel each month.
For something more lighthearted for the holiday season, we talked about the late Terry Pratchett, the amount of work it takes to create a series, and how he was able to get Jackie to play the main role in 'Night Terrace'.
