Grad Bash Gone Wild! Teachers Beware!

Grad Bash Gone Wild! Teachers Beware!

No Fast Passes needed for this ride of teacher stress.....
Welcome back to Crying in my Car, a podcast for teachers! Join our hosts Devin Siebold and James Yon as they ask if it’s a good idea to date around the teachers lounge, and reminisce about their Grad Bash theme park shenanigans.
Whenever that chaperone signup sheet turns up to go to Universal to celebrate our seniors graduation, GET OUT OF OUR WAY! We are always the first ones to sign up (which is pretty easy when you’re the one printing it out). From riding the Incredible Hulk rollercoaster with no line to the free food (a slight step up from our cafeteria food), we probably look forward to Grad Bash more than the students do.
Speaking of end-of-the-year events.... some teachers take loving the lesson plan to a whole new level. Finding a date to prom is a little bit harder for teachers, so some of them choose to go with each other; so this week we ask - are they looking for love in all the wrong places?
So keep your arms and feet in the vehicle at all times, por favor manténgase alejado de las puertas, and enjoy this emotional rollercoaster on this week’s episode of Crying in my Car, a podcast for teachers.

Welcome back to Crying in my Car, a podcast for teachers! Join our hosts Devin Siebold and James Yon where we ask the annual question: they’re tossin’ caps, but are they ready for what comes next? From finding the quad to how to sign up for the right classes, we explore what it means to get ready for college.

Can teachers survive senioritis? Between early alarms, a lack of interest from students, and demanding admin, it's no wonder that the last stretch takes a lot out of you.

By the way… is school starting too early or are we getting older? It definitely doesn’t align with adolescent science. A snooze button on the morning bell could be the MVP of academia. Asking for a friend….

So get ready to struggle through that senioritis, avoid getting hit by a rogue graduation cap, and tune in to this week’s episode of Crying in my Car, a podcast for teachers.

Welcome back to Crying in my Car, a podcast for teachers! Join our hosts Devin Siebold and James Yon as we explore what solar eclipses have to do with the controversial teacher union challenges sweeping Florida.

Hold onto your seat (and your calculators) as we shine a light on the latest astronomical event that's captivating classrooms. Maybe a little too much….

Let’s reminisce on the good old days where technology surprised us less, we take a moment to appreciate the forgotten awe of the calculator. From spelling words upside-down to hiding the test answers behind its cover. We bring it all the way back.

Did you know that NASA has reached out to local teachers? They’re not recruiting but asking them to incorporate more of the solar eclipse into the classroom. Don’t stare right into the unpaid overtime.

So don’t drop your calculator, grab your approved solar filter glasses - not the ones you grabbed from Wish - and tune in to this week’s episode of Crying in my Car, a podcast for teachers.

Can the old-school keep the new school in check!?

Welcome back to Crying in my Car, a podcast for teachers. Take a seat with our hosts, Devin Siebold and James Yon as they dissect the growing taboo of politics in the classroom.

You don’t want to miss this drama: from a brewing legal battle over teachers’ freedom of speech to the tea breaking up student clubs from within. Are teachers inching closer and closer to becoming the nation’s social pariahs? You will never see the punchline of the joke coming.

Devin challenges the shutting down of the opinion of others in the classroom. Is this hindering students' critical thinking skills and limiting their exposure to different perspectives?

Would banning cell phones fix the school system? James shares how different his school was without a cellphone in his hand 24/7. Devin hilariously suggests - or invents? - “education mode” for all phones: “and it only goes to journalistic, documented websites."

Cheers to the parents, coaches, and private tutors!

Cheers to the parents, coaches, and private tutors!

Ring the bell, it's the teacher-parent battleground!

Get ready to tear up, it's time for Crying in my Car, a podcast for teachers! Join our hosts Devin Siebold and James Yon as they kick off this parent versus teacher debate but first make their case on why napping is one of the healthiest things a teacher can do to refresh from the chaos - but when could they ever partake?
Speaking of chaos, Devin chimes in on the time management struggles that teachers face on a daily basis. From grading papers to lesson planning, it's a constant battle to get everything done let alone deal with parents assigning THEM homework.
Did you know Devin spent some time moonlighting as a private tutor? Well, it didn't go so well.
From the helicopter parent to the laid-back one, they've seen it all. But let's be real, being a parent to a student isn't easy either. James gives his side of the chaos that could ensue after the last bell. Don't forget the coaches! Shoutout the unsung heroes that teach life lessons to these students between school bells even with shockingly low pay scale. We see you coaches, and we appreciate you.
Get ready to take the long way to school! Don't miss this episode of Crying in my Car, a podcast for teachers.

The Teacher Did WHAT During Lunch!?

The Teacher Did WHAT During Lunch!?

Electrifying teacher realities you won't believe!
Welcome back to Crying In My Car, a podcast for teachers, where our hosts Devin Siebold and James Yon kick things off with a hair-raising encounter with a static filled hotel bed, setting the stage for a conversation about the shocking reality of paper waste in schools.
We're moved by how a teacher's quick thinking prevented a student from choking, illustrating the unexpected roles educators play beyond just teaching.
The dialogue takes a serious turn, addressing teacher rights and the quest for deserved compensation, yet the passion for teaching shines through the hard times.
Whether you're in it for the laughs, the stories, or a mix of both, this episode promises to deliver.

Become a podcast that talks about teacher more than a podcast for teachers

I used to love the podcast but the tone has been shifting for several months unfortunately. I’m not sure if it’s because Devin has been out of the classroom for an increasingly long time-creating a disconnection-or just an attempt to appeal to a wider audience beyond just teacher but it doesn’t feel the same anymore. It feels more and more like a podcast that talks about teachers and less like a podcast that is for teachers.
