    Romina is a passionate and devoted crafter and natural cosmetics formulator of high quality skin care, working primarily with plants grown in the Upper Midwest bioregion. In this episode, Romina shares the origin story of ROMI Apothecary and some of her favorite skin care routines as a way to deepen in relationship with yourself, engage in ritual care and create energetic boundaries.     Romina Takimoto is native to Honolulu, Hawaii and has been living in St.Paul MN for 15 years. She is the founder and natural cosmetics formulator of ROMI Apothecary, a collection of artisanal skincare products made from Minnesota grown medicinal herbs. Romina's plant path was sparked in 2016 after meeting Rosemary Gladstar at the Midwest Women's Herbal Conference. Romina realized that plants have been there for her all her life and it was just a matter of tuning in to cultivate that rich connection.

With an academic background at the intersections of ecology, culture, and spirituality, Young was studying at Columbia when the Occupy Wall Street movement began and amid the burgeoning resistance in Zuccotti Park, she co-created the Environmental Working Group. Since then Ayana has been the force behind a native species nursery and research center, including the establishment of the 1 Million Redwoods Project, which was acclaimed as the most backed farm project in Kickstarter history, the film When Old Growth Ends, an ode to the complex interweaving of the irreplaceable Tongass National Forest during its last stand as a distinctly wild place in Southeast Alaska and the For The Wild podcast a weekly show featuring thought-leaders at the forefront of environmental, artistic, scientific, political and cultural shift.
