The Power of a Winning Mindset with Jedidiah Collins

The Power of a Winning Mindset with Jedidiah Collins

Jedidiah Collins is the "Fullback of Finance." After a successful career in the NFL, he's on a mission to empower one million people to own their financial stories.
He’s an author, a speaker, a podcaster, and a teacher…his story is one of grit and determination.
There are 380,000 collegiate athletes, yet only 1% percent of them make it to a professional level.
Despite having success in college, Jed knew it would be challenging to make it as a pro.

    But that didn't stop him.
It wasn't a smooth ride by any means, and he shares his story of getting cut over and over again before finally landing a starting role for the Super Bowl-defending New Orleans Saints.

Not only did he become a starter, he was even named to the Pro Bowl team.
Jed was part of what he calls the "Breakfast Club," when he would be one of the first people in the locker room learning and understanding what it takes to be a peak performer.

A consistent theme for Jed is he was able to steal success from each of the organizations he was a part of. We get a first-row seat to hear the fascinating stories of how he learned from iconic athletes like Drew Brees.
After realizing that only 30% of retired NFL athletes walk away with their financial dream still intact, Jed decided to become a Certified Financial Planner during the off-season.
On the show, we cover a lot of ground, including why thoughts are things, the difference between external and internal success, why repetition matters, how to silence the voice of quit, and why we should focus on most vs now.
A the core of Jed’s philosophy is a belief that we must eliminate potential.
Jed has a winning mindset and shares how one-on-one basketball competitions with his brothers as a kid made an impact on his entire life. We also learned why he feels his greatest asset is his lifelong habit of journaling.

How to Activate the Genius of Others with Liz Wiseman

How to Activate the Genius of Others with Liz Wiseman

Today’s guest is Liz Wiseman, author of New York Times bestseller Multipliers: How the Best Leaders Make Everyone Smarter, The Multiplier Effect: Tapping the Genius Inside Our Schools, Impact Players: How to Take the Lead, Play Bigger and Multiply Your Impact and Wall Street Journal bestseller Rookie Smarts: Why Learning Beats Knowing in the New Game of Work. Liz has conducted significant research in the field of leadership and collective intelligence and writes for Harvard Business Review, Fortune, and a variety of other business and leadership journals. A former executive at Oracle Corporation, over the course of 17 years, Liz was the Vice President of Oracle University and a global leader in Human Resource Development. Her management research and executive development firm The Wiseman Group is focused on developing leaders around the globe who can take on the world's toughest challenges. Her client list includes Apple, Disney, Facebook, Google, Microsoft, and Twitter. As you will see in this show, I met Liz when she spoke at Tesla and it resulted in one of the most memorable and emotional professional experiences in my life.

On the show, we dive into the concepts of Multipliers and Rookie Smarts and she tells personal insight stories that have helped make her the person she is today. She explains the interesting reason why she decided to leave Oracle, and how that planted the seed for one of her books. We discuss her insights as a mother of 4 and a busy professional, and how her world was changed when she realized the management skill she used at work is the exact same skillset she used at home. She also shares how and why she created labels in her books to help provide a framework and language to discuss what she calls the “undiscussable” - A multiplier is a genius maker and helps to activate everyone around them to be their best by spending their energy on extracting and extending the genius of others. A diminisher does the exact opposite, by restricting others and holding them back from showing their what she calls “native genius”. We will discuss this in detail, including giving an example of the “accidental diminisher” - someone who has positive intentions but inadvertently diminishes those around them. She also gives some sage advice for parents on how to balance life and family. I’m beyond thrilled to release today’s show and can thank Liz enough for being my guest so please enjoy this episode of Insight Out!

Phenomenal!

First and foremost, it is important for the audience to know that I was never a fan of podcasts. I began listening in a little over a year ago because it was recommended to me by a dear friend of mine. I am currently deployed overseas with the military and have used this to help keep my senses keen and my mind sharp! The following review is nothing but the truth based on my personal experiences.

You can’t go wrong with “InsightOut.” Billy has a very diverse infrastructure that welcomes the minds of many different kinds of individuals from all walks of life. You really feel like you are building a personal network here because the research and the questions dive so deep with each interview! It is very easy to feel like you have learned what a curriculum will teach you in a few weeks, within one hour!

Growth mindedness, kindness, wealthy advice, personal relations, and unspoken truths are just a select few things you will find within this podcast to help give you some productive lessons throughout your day! In a world devoured by closed mindedness, hatred, misguidance, ignorance, and lies! This podcast allows you to stay focused on the good in the world while reminding you that you CAN and WILL accomplish the healthy impact you set out to!

Thank you billy, and thank you billies team for what you do!
