The 7th Cavalry’s plans are revealed, as are Lady Trieu’s, and they all revolve around Doctor Manhattan. Can Angela Abar save the love of her life? Will Adrian Veidt “save the day” one more time? Watchmen Watch: Episode 8.5, With Cher Martinetti

Cher Martinetti, Founding Editor of SYFY WIRE Fangrrls, joins our bonus podcast to discuss the fallout from Watchmen’s “A God Walks Into Abar.” While Peteypedia delves further into “Fogdancing” and we maybe learn the identity of Lube Man, the promo for “See How They Fly” teases an apocalyptic finish to Season 1. Plus, Cher discusses what it’s like coming to Watchmen the TV series having never read Watchmen the comic book series, and we take some of your listeners questions and theories.

Watchmen Watch: “A God Walks Into Abar”

It’s flashback — or is it flash-forward? — time on HBO’s Watchmen as we find out how Doctor Manhattan met Angela Abar on “A God Walks Into Abar.” While Angela and the being formerly known as Jon Osterman chat in Vietnam for the first time, Doctor Manhattan is waking up in present day Tulsa, a new world is being created on Europa, and an important meeting is happening between Doctor Manhattan and Will Reeves, Angela’s grandfather. Oh, and if you’re wondering how Adrian Veidt ended up on one of Jupiter’s moons? You’ll find that out, too.

Thank you

Aside from the official podcast this is the best watchmen podcast available. All three hosts are articulate, knowledgeable, and individually charming. Cheers. Mates.

A more serious turn for CBC

The trio of Comic Book Club are always a blast to listen to, and this is a chance to hear them tackle something a little more grounded and serious. Whereas their other recap shows like Preachermen or Riverdale After Dark are absolute amazing madness, Watchmen Watch is really CBC’s most intellectually driven podcast, with a few jokes thrown in to keep you on your toes. I always tell friends to go back to the live show and The Stack to get a feel for the friendship and “continuity” of the three hosts, but this one can be listened to clean if you have an open mind. Good stuff good stuff.

Can’t listen on Apple any more

It’s a good podcast on an excellent show but as of December 9 2019 it won’t play on the built-in Apple podcast app (purple icon). The pods from established media like Josh Wigler’s from The Hollywood Reporter and The Daily from the New York Times still play fine. I’m current on iOS updates and have tried restarting the phone without results. No idea what changed but other fan and patreon supported pods won’t play either. Good luck getting this sorted.
