In 1997, the song "Tubthumping" was everywhere: bars, soccer stadiums, movies, and TV shows. The song, with its chant-along chorus ("I get knocked down, but I get up again, you're never gonna keep me down!") was rousing, and it was easy to understand why it was such a hit. The oddly named band behind the hit, Chumbawamba, seemed to come from nowhere with this incredibly catchy little tune. But then, as did so many bands from the 90s, they seemed to disappear as quickly as they'd come. But there's a lot more to Chumbawamba than just one song. Across dozens of studio albums, EPs, cassettes, and other releases, the band proved themselves to be one of the most prolific anarcho-punk bands of the 80s through the 2010s. Their discography features a wealth of great songs, across many genres, that confront social and political issues that still affect us today.Join Teddy & Natalie, your resident Chumbologists, as we dig song by song, album by album, through one of the most overlooked bands of all time. Do you like prolonged rants about Disney's monopolization of mass media and its associated cultural rot? How about the idea of unionizing your podcast? Where have you been all my life?

I stumbled upon this Podcast as I was adding a Chumbawamba song to my daughters spotify playlist after she had heard it on mine (proud parent moment). I have been a fan of Chumbawamba since I was 12 years old back in 1997 after hearing Tubthumping and buying the album Tubthumper. It was the most wonderful thing 12 year old me had ever heard. After that I had gotten every new album that came out and over the years, thanks to the internet, was able to backfill my collection until I owned the entire discography. I see this podcast has been on a bit of a hiatus but I look forward to listen to what is available and hope there is a time when the remaining songs are covered. (Glad to see you made it to my favorite song, "this girl.").

Fans of chumbawamba should be called Chums

I have been a chumbawamba fan (a Chum?) for a few years now and was delighted to find a podcast dedicated to documenting the catalogue of this criminally underrated group. Like most people I played tubthumping on repeat when it came out, roller skating around my neighborhood as a child totally oblivious to the messages of the song and the band as a whole. As I grew more leftist as an adult I got into chumbawamba again realizing I’d overlooked their work and their explicit anarcho-communist ethos and actions. Love to find other passionate chumbawamba fans (Chums!) and really appreciate all of your work on behalf of the best band of all time.

You love to see it

I’m a big chumbawamba fan and this podcast only grows my love for the band. I’ve learned a lot, and always am looking forward to the next episode.
